Singapore Air Show 2010

Chinook Helicopter Singapore Air Show 2010

Singapore Air Show is one of the biggest air show in Asia. The air show was open to public visitors on Feb 6 and 7, 2010.

So, we took AirAsia to visit the event, the flight ticket price to and return was just RM 270 ++. My friend bought ticket much later, so the price was RM 305.

However, if we did some searching using Wego.com, we could have better deals from Jet Star. Jet Star was selling for RM 130 ++ only.

We purchased the air show tickets at http://www.sistic.com.sg/ and got the tickets from local authorized travel agent in Penang. The ticket price was 21 SGD for one day per person.

We arrived at the Penang airport around 9.00 to take the plane to Singapore on Feb 6, unfortunately the flight was delayed since Changi Airport was closed temporarily for the show.

Luckily, the plane was there around 11.20 and boarded the plane around 12.00 pm. For the flight delay, AirAsia compensated each one of us with RM 200 E-Voucher which we have to redeem back within 3 month.

The plane arrived at Changi Airport around 1.20 pm. From there we went to Terminal 2 and took the free shuttle bus to Changi Exhibition Centre (CEC) for the Air Show.

The weather was sunny and fine, just nice for an air show. Exactly 3.00 pm the aerobatic flying display started.

The event started with pretty cool F16 Falcon air show , then followed with awesome Apache LongBow Helicopter performance. Both pilots from Republic of Singapore Air Force .

Followed by 10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog" Tank Killer aerial display and finally closed with M-346 Alenia Aermacchi fighter jet trainer aerobatic flying display..

After the event, we went to the exhibition center to see some of the exhibits there. Outside the exhibition center, types of commercial airplanes and military fighter jets were displayed at the static display section.

Visitors can get close with some of the aircrafts displayed at static display section such as Chinook helicopter, Apache LongBow Helicopter and etc.

To improve the event the management should consider to make the aerobatic flying display much more longer.

Overall, you will have a good time there if you're jet fighter enthusiast like us.

Enjoy the videos below :)
