Brief Overview About LIMA Langkawi 2011.
Malaysia is once again proud to play host to the 11th edition of the LIMA Exhibition, which will be held from 6 -- 10 December 2011 in Langkawi.
The Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition is the premier destination for aerospace and maritime manufacturers targeting the Asia Pacific growth markets. For nearly 22 years, LIMA has been serving exhibitor needs by assembling key decision makers from the defence, enforcement and civil sectors. In 2009, over 210 delegations from 40 countries gathered in Langkawi Island representing what was essentially this exact market in the world. LIMA's carefully crafted programmes gave exhibitors the opportunity to access this invaluable market and help grow their business.
Since its inception in 1991, LIMA has gone from strength. From 150 companies in 1991, it attracted more than 450 companies from 25 countries with almost RM5 billion worth of business generated in the last exhibition held in 2009, and has now become one of the world's premier aerospace exhibitions.

F-16 Fighting Falcon
F-16 Capabilities Keep Climbing
Capabilities Keep Climbing
The F-16 made history when it first rolled onto the flight line -- an aircraft that literally defined high performance. And those standards keep rising as the F-16 has evolved to the most capable multirole fighter available. New technologies are incorporated into the cockpit, avionics, sensors and weapons to keep pace with the latest operational requirements.
Range and payload of the F-16 have both significantly increased. Survivability has been sharply enhanced with the more advanced warfare sensors and sophisticated decoys. Engine thrust has increased to ensure the F-16 retains its legendary aerodynamic performance.
Along the way, the aircraft has been designed to be more reliable, more maintainable and more supportable. It continues to be the most affordable multirole fighter in the skies today.
Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Participation in LIMA 11
At the invitation of the Malaysian government, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) is participating in LIMA 11 with a Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-16 fighter aircraft and a Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) S-70B naval helicopter in the static display, as well as in a fleet display by the RSN frigate, RSS Supreme. Another RSAF F-16 fighter aircraft is performing daily solo aerial displays.
The SAF's participation in LIMA since 2001 underscores the warm and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Malaysia. The SAF and Malaysian Armed Forces interact regularly through bilateral and multilateral exercises, professional exchanges as well as the cross-attendance of courses.
